HOMER : ODYSSEY book 19, verses 203, 204

'He began to dissemble, telling many lies resembling truths, and as she listened, tears began flowing as her face melted.'-- my rendering of Odyssey,19,203-204:

ἴσκε ψεύδεα πολλὰ λέγων ἐτύμοισιν ὁμοῖα·
τῆς δ᾽ ἄρ᾽ ἀκουούσης ῥέε δάκρυα, τήκετο δὲ χρώς
